About Us
About Us

Welcome to Oi Coffee ThaiM, a story deeply rooted in family, tradition, and a passion for exceptional coffee. Founded by Ratchadaporn Rice (“Oi”) and Shane Rice, our story is as rich and smooth as the Robusta coffee we are proud to share in your cup.
Our Story

The origins of Oi Coffee ThaiM trace back several decades to the 1990s when Oi’s family began cultivating Robusta coffee in La-un, a district in Ranong province, southern Thailand. The family relocated from Buriram province in northeastern Thailand to Ranong, starting a legacy that has now spanned over 30 years. They learned how to grow high-quality Robusta coffee with dedication and care.
In 2021, during the global lockdown, Oi saw an opportunity to expand her family’s coffee legacy by acquiring an adjoining coffee plantation. This marked the beginning of Oi Coffee ThaiM, with a second plantation added in 2022, paving the way for our vision of creating a “farm-to-cup” coffee experience.

Coming up with the brand name was a no-brainer. “Oi” is common Australian slang that grabs attention, and it also happens to be Ratchadaporn’s Thai nickname. “Coffee ThaiM” is a clever play on words, with “ThaiM” rhyming with “time.” This name reflects both our roots in Thailand and the shared moments we hope our coffee brings to your day.
Oi and Shane have spent over a decade living and working across Thailand, Laos, and Australia. They drew on their shared experiences to develop a more inclusive sales model, bringing the unique flavours of Thai Robusta coffee to the Australian market.
Our Mission
We aim to give Australians the opportunity to savour the unique taste of Robusta coffee from the “Land of Smiles.” Grown in low-altitude areas with high rainfall and fertile soil, and naturally dried, our coffee offers a delightful flavour profile of sweet caramel and chocolate.
Our Vision

We are committed to providing a sustainable income for local farmers. For decades, selling green coffee beans to processors has barely provided enough for subsistence farming. By creating a direct connection between farms and consumers, we aim to improve the lives of hardworking farming families who cultivate high-quality Robusta coffee.
What Sets Us Apart
At Oi Coffee ThaiM, we pride ourselves on being coffee farmers first and foremost. While we may not be experts in roasting or brewing, we bring generations of experience in growing premium Robusta coffee.
Our coffee is grown with minimal use of artificial fertilizers and chemicals, reflecting both economic realities and our commitment to sustainability. The coffee cherries are hand-harvested and naturally sun-dried on shade-cloth tarps, enhancing the distinctive flavours of southern Thailand’s Robusta coffee.
From Farm to Cup
In 2022-23, we brought samples of our green coffee beans to Tasmania for roasting and flavour profiling. The overwhelmingly positive feedback confirmed that Thai-grown Robusta coffee could be a standout single-origin coffee.
To ensure freshness and convenience, we focus on producing drip bags and immersion bags with extended shelf lives. These products are perfect for travel, camping, the office, or enjoying at home. With just a cup and hot water, you can savour the flavours of Thailand anywhere.

Our coffee bags are produced by Drip Library, a highly experienced roasting and packaging company in Thailand. Using the harvest from 2023-24, we developed our first commercial product line, marking a significant milestone in our journey.
Looking Ahead
As we grow, we plan to expand our product offerings to include whole roasted beans from the 2024-25 harvest and single-origin Arabica coffee from northern Thailand. Inspired by feedback from our online community, we strive to continuously improve our products and your experience.
The Taste of Thailand

From our family farm nestled in the lush hills of La-un, Ranong, to your cup, we invite you to experience the bold and smooth flavours of Thailand’s Robusta coffee. Each bean reflects a tradition of excellence cultivated by hand and perfected over generations. With every sip, you’re not just enjoying a beverage but also supporting a legacy of dedication, sustainability, and family.
Thank you for being a part of our story.
